Damien Giurco is Professor of Resource Futures and Director (Innovation) at the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney. His work with government and industry focuses on resource stewardship and he directs the Wealth from Waste Cluster, a collaborative research program supporting circular economy pathways and policies for metals. He is Editor-in-Chief for the journal Resources and also serves on the NSW Container Deposit Scheme Ministerial Advisory Committee.

David Malicki is Senior Team Leader at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, and leads the Energy Efficient Business unit.
Over his 10 year tenure at OEH he has delivered a number of state-wide energy savings programs for 20,000 plus NSW businesses; helping them reduce energy costs by over $500 million.
David received his Masters of Politics and Public Policy and Resource Management degrees from Macquarie University.
A key role of OEH is to promote environmental sustainability and resource-efficiency practices across New South Wales. OEH offers programs, resources and financial support to help NSW organisations save money, increase productivity and gain a distinct competitive advantage.
David will speak about the new enabling and disruptive technology of battery storage, and how it fits into the energy systems of savvy businesses.
